Ines's summer, discover her exclusive interview
On the occasion of the beautiful season, we asked Ines a few questions about her summer and travel memories.
Can you tell us a pleasant summer memory?
"One day we were stuck on an island with my family. The sea was too rough to leave, so we had to sleep in a cabin made of wood and tin. When night fell, everything was shaking because of the storm. We were scared, then we laughed: it remains a good memory to tell.
Another moment I remember is the day we came back from the beach: there was sand everywhere in the car, our hair tasted like sea salt, our towels weighed a ton. But we didn't care about anything! We listened to Italian music hits from the 1970s at full volume, and we had the sunset in the rearview mirror.
Once, the whole house dressed up as hippies to go pick up friends from the train station as a group.
There is also the day when my boyfriend had a gypsy music band come to the house while I was away. They played when I returned from the supermarket.
Added to these summer memories is the time I rented a house with a friend. She had invited one of her close friends, a famous writer, and we became friends from the moment we bathed my dog. We were both soaked!
Do you have a favorite garment that always gives you confidence when you wear it?
"Oh dear! No clothing is magical, but in summer you feel better in everything: it's in faded blue pants and a cotton shirt that I feel good! A little worn leather jacket I've kept for 100 years, a black cotton dress in Sicilian style, a shirt dress or just denim shorts with a T-shirt: when you're happy and tanned, clothes are more obedient!
For me, Picasso, Dali, Georgia O'Keeffe, Jane Birkin, Stella Tennant, Romy Schneider, Aisha of Jaipur are good inspirations for summer.
I also bring out my plain Indian petticoats every summer: I have them in all colors! I wear them with colorful earrings and sandals, or with gemstones: it always makes an impression in the evening."
What are your fashion essentials for summer that never leave your wardrobe and that you are sure to wear during the summer?
A large blue shirt that can be worn as a dress,
Sandali e un cestino,
Shorts or denim bermuda shorts,
A navy blue sweater for the evening or boat outings,
Un cappello di paglia,
A bandana for driving with the window down,
Leather boots for walking or horseback riding,
A one-piece swimsuit and/or a two-piece swimsuit.
White jeans, espadrilles, and little charms to hang around the neck!
But I also bring a scented candle, a camera (Leica), a throw, sunscreen, books, a city map (depending on the destination), and a small speaker for music (mini Marshall).
