Ines's autumn-winter, discover her exclusive interview
What were your inspirations for the new collection?
I was mainly inspired by England, Scotland, country chic, Stella Tennant, and English music bands from the 60s.
What is the theme, the specific story you want to tell with this autumn-winter collection?
Several stories come to mind: a young woman in a slightly rundown castle, a walk in the fields, a good hot tea by a fire, wrapped in a cashmere sweater, reading Emily Brontë. It's also the tale of elegant nonchalance, luxury codes without conformism, a modern Lady Chatterley, but who has Lucian Freud paintings on the wall and watches Blow-up streaming.
How is this theme expressed in the designs?
We find tweed, flared pants, printed velvet, floral shirts, thick wool or cashmere sweaters, Scottish sweaters, jackets resembling those of the four March sisters. We also have loafers, velvet slippers, suede or leather boots in Camargue style, khaki, beige like an old Land Rover, very seventies prints.
Is there a piece you prefer, that holds a special place in your heart?
The outfit that comes to mind is the black velvet suit with golden patterns, since I'm always looking for something to wear in the evening without looking like a garlanded lampshade. This suit is a mix of chic and rock n’ roll; worn with a men's shirt and loafers, for example, it's the perfect outfit for many occasions.
Is there a piece in this collection that is a personal nod, ou that has a specific meaning for you?
I've always kept an old corduroy jacket (which my teams know by heart, by the way): so we made a new one strongly inspired by it.
If you had to describe the collection in 3 words?
Chic, warm, and charming.
If this collection were a work of art, which one would it be?
Without a doubt, Marcel Duchamp's Bottle Rack (laughs)!
At first glance, you think it's purely practical, but in the end, you realize it's unique.
